Audio-Technica: Players Line

Over the years I've been quite a headphone hound. I've owned countless pairs of inexpensive headphones, never wanting to pay a whole lot of money for my portable cans (they always kept breaking). I'm covered at home with my Sennheiser HD-25II headphones, but when it comes to exercise, I've just been fiddling with some cheapo model that keeps falling out of my ears when on the treadmill.

That's why when Audio Technica announced their "Players Line" of portable headphones on May 28th I was stoked! They've even taken the liberty of creating four different styles, and one is sure to meet your needs.

ATH-CKP330 (Black/Green, Black, Pink, White)

This model features a lightweight over-the-head band, with detachable ear-canal buds. The ear buds swivel so you get the perfect fit.

ATH-CP200 (Black/Green, Black, Pink, White)

A removable clear plastic supporter firmly keeps your ear-buds in place while on the run. These are not the ear-canal type buds for those of you who don't like having your ears plugged. Again, the ear-buds swivel for a perfect fit.

ATH-CKP300 (Black, Blue, Red, White, Yellow)

Ear-canal buds that fit your ears tightly and won't fall out easily. Features an "oval rubber ring" to keep the ear-bud in, and "rear angled brushing" to keep the cords out of the way.

ATH-CP300 (Black, Pink, White, Yellow)

Ear-bud style headphones that wrap around the top and back of your ear. These most definitely will not fall out, even if you're bungee jumping.

The CKP line has the ear-canal buds, while the CP line has the normal ear-buds. All phones feature nearly the same specs, and I wouldn't expect to be blown away by the sound. The Players Line is being created for sports enthusiasts, and thus are waterproof (IPX-2 standard) for when you're sweating hard or playing at the beach. They also feature 60cm cords with a 60cm extension cord, so if you're one that likes to use an armband, you don't have a super long cord to deal with. The cords also are designed to wrap around the back of your neck, and there's a clip to attach to your clothes to keep the cable from bouncing around. Very nice Audio-Technica!

Personally, I have my eyes on the ATH-CP300 in yellow. The Players Line will be released from Audio-Technica on June 25th, 2010, and beNippon will be shipping them to the world, shortly after that.
