beNippon Affiliate, are you onboard?
Launching beNippon Affiliate was a big deal for us. I don't know how much time was spent developing the backend, but it's a service we've been wanting for years. Before beNippon, I didn't have a lot of experience with affiliate programs, so there was a bit of a learning curve for me... the actual implementation is easy, I'm talking about backend work.
Recently, I've been getting a few emails asking about the best way to get beNippon Affiliate started on others' blogs, websites, etc. It really is easy. You just sign up, here, there's some information to read such as our rules and linking, then you can choose banners for your site, and all you have to do is attach your affiliate code to item links on our site.
As far as generating revenue, that's a bit more difficult. However, with a catalog of over 40,000 items, beNippon's products can fit into virtually any subject matter from manga and anime, to electronics and fashion.
I'll give you one example that worked for me. In the spring, I was blogging quite a bit about my Casio Ex-Word A9800 that i'd just purchased. If you do a product search on Google, the beNippon blog is the #1 site, even with a combination of words, it's usually on the first page.
Now, the majority of you people reading the beNippon blog, probably get a lot more traffic than I do, so you've probably got some great topics of your own. After you've discovered a subject that's got a high ranking search result, hit up beNippon to find a great combination of product to advertise. Writing about something you actually own, is best.
Once you've done the ground work, just sit back and wait... keep writing, keep your blog updated, chat on forums and use your beNippon affiliate link. After a while, you'll see an email like this (this is a real order, information has been censored to protect the innocent):
Nice, a ¥1101 commission, that's a little over $13 US dollars! But don't get too excited just yet, gotta wait for the buyer to pay, and for the item to ship. Next you'll get an email like this one:
Notice the status, it says "shipped" so I just made ¥1101.
Of course, I'm not saying you'll be able to retire from your commissions (although if you did, rest assured you won't be the only happy camper), but it is nice to be able to earn revenue for the time you spend on your website, you can also earn commissions on your own purchases, so that's an additional advantage.
Give beNippon Affiliate a try, the only cost to you is your time. Great prices, great personal service, and a large catalog of items, what more could you want?
